Kooza!

We took Caleb to the real Cirque du Soleil, Kooza!, on Sunday afternoon October 12th.  He’s fascinated by artistic dance and live performances, so I thought he would enjoy the show.  Dave & I were a little nervous that he might be scared to death (and we’d only last a matter of minutes, which would [...]

On Thursday, October 9th we observed Yom Kippur as a family.  Although we were fasting and thinking about how to get our names into the Book of Life, we decided it would be good for Caleb if David & I took him to his gymnastics class at Hill House in Beacon Hill before heading to services.  [...]

Barnum & Bailey circus arrived in Boston on Monday, October 6th to perform at the Garden.  The only way to get the elephants, giraffes and other large animals to the venue in the middle of the city is to walk them from the trainyard.  Lucky us, their route is just a short trip over the [...]

Topsfield Fair

It’s been awhile since I posted and there’s a lot to catch up on!  Dave was in Mexico City the first weekend of October for work, so Caleb and I kept very busy.   On Sunday, October 5th we decided to visit the famous Topsfield Fair.

Banana Bread Baker

One of my favorite things is banana bread.  (I have a great Cooking Light recipes that involves Ghiradelli chocolate if anyone’s interested- http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=549763.)  Caleb helped me make it a few weeks back.  I think it’s one of his favorite things now too.

A couple of weeks ago I had a dentist appointment.  Just a cleaning.  All my family members who go to this dentist (and trust me, that’s almost everyone) will know what I’m talking about when I mention the hygenist and what a knack she has for asking deep, thoughtful questions that require a lengthy response all [...]

Happy New Year

Monday night and yesterday morning Caleb rang in the year 5769 listening to his big, bald rabbi, Rabbi Al at Brandeis.  There is something about Rabbi Al’s voice that puts a spell over Caleb; he listens very intently.  He was the only little one during the evening services, but come Tuesday morning he had lots [...]
